    New on the site:

The ORBI Web site is moving and changing.  The ORBI site will become an interactive Web log in the near future.  We are now in a transition period to our new home and features.  Here is the link to our new address at http://orbiartsnetwork.wordpress.com/.

Once the transition is complete, we will transfer the www.orbi.org domain name to the new blog.  We will be adding all new information to the new blog during the transition process.  We are trying to keep all of our pages essentially the same, but it will take some time to modify html formatting and to move all our forms and graphics to the new location.  Whenever you come to this old site, be sure to click on the link above to find out what is new on the blog.

Updates to this old site will be minimal during the transition.  See you at the new ORBI blog site!

ORBI has a new grant program for arts organizations designed to jump start or try out accessibility innovation.  Go to the ORBI News page to find out details.

Results of the 2009 ORBI grant program are now posted on the News page along with comments by the Project Director about this year's panel process.  If you are planning to apply for a 2010 grant, look at the 2009 grant awards and comments to give you an idea of what kinds of projects we fund.

If you would like to have your events listed on the ORBI Web site, please call the ORBI Project Director at 304-655-8255 to get ORBI's email address.  We only accept calendars and announcements for posting by email.

Unfortunately, our Email ORBI links throughout this Web site have generated huge amounts of spam.  We are discontinuing all references to the ORBI email address on the site, as well as any references to other email addresses.  The spam situation, and spider programs that constantly search the Internet "harvesting" email addresses from Web site programming, are the new dark side of life on the Web.  We apologize for any inconvenience this causes, but you can still contact ORBI by phone at 304-655-8255 and we will be happy to give you ORBI's current email address if you need to send link or other information.

The link above for our mailing list form will still take you to that form, but you will have to print and mail it to the address on the form.  You will no longer be able to email your request directly to ORBI from the form.  You can also be added to the mailing list by calling ORBI at 304-655-8255.

Learn about ORBI's impact on people and communities from the several new stories posted on the ORBI Stories page.

Check out the Mural Resources page.  The ORBI Mural Team shares their experience and ideas with you about creating community murals.

The ORBI Arts Network is a  communications tool for the arts community in the Ohio River Valley created by the Ohio River Border Initiative.  ORBI is a joint project of the West Virginia Commission on the Arts and the Ohio Arts Council.

If you are an artist, musician, craftsperson, community arts activist, civic leader, business person, gallery owner, teacher, or anyone else interested in the arts on the West Virginia/Ohio border, this site is a way for you to help you plan new projects, share resources and find out what others in the region are doing. We have designed this site with minimal graphics to help it run as fast as possible for slower computers and modems.

The ORBI Arts Network has sections that you navigate using the buttons on the left.

    • The ORBI Arts Bulletin Board where you can post ideas, projects and resources. Use the Bulletin Board to find help, locate future partners or tell others about new project ideas.
    • Links to the Ohio Arts Council and the West Virginia Commission on the Arts and other Web sites that offer help or useful information for the arts community in the Ohio River region. These links will include Web sites by artists, arts businesses and arts organizations on the Ohio/West Virginia border.
    • ORBI News with information about new ORBI projects and plans
    • ORBI Stories has descriptions of the impact of ORBI-funded programs on people and communities in our region.
    • Grants with information that will be useful to you when you apply for an ORBI grant.
    • A section with answers to some of the Questions about ORBI.
You can also find out more about ORBI at About ORBI . If you want to know more about ORBI or want to get on the ORBI mailing list, you can find out more or contact the Project Director at 304-655-8255.
